QR Ventures was formed in 2001 by Nick Bateman, a qualified banker and accountant who had migrated to commercial and general management in the mid nineties.

In the early days the company focus was on “strategically reviewing” businesses and “helping businesses improve their performance”. The speed of business change and the ever-increasing team has meant the business is focusing on the key challenges for businesses and organisations today –notably the “web marketing capability” and the “business sale and purchase” element.

The company has and is prepared to venture on its own account –this will, often mean foregoing some elements of the fee in exchange for equity. This demonstrates the confidence QR has in its capability to make a step change in improvement for businesses and organisations. However, it is fair to say that most business owners do not wish to dilute their equity and prefer to negotiate performance related businesses.
